Un Américain à Neuchâtel

C'est l'histoire d'un Américain passionné de Louis Agassiz, qui vient faire un pélerinage suisse sur les traces du célèbre glaciologue. Il se rend à Môtiers (Vully) lieu de naissance de Louis Agassiz. Il va voir la Pierre Agassiz du Mont-Vully. Il fait même le déplacement jusqu'au glacier de l'Unteraar à la recherche de l'emplacement de l'Hôtel des Neuchâtelois.
Ensuite il débarque à Neuchâtel, grimpe jusqu'à la pinte de Pierre-à-Bot, se renseigne concernant l'emplacement de la Pierre-à-Bot, suit un sentier pédestre, bifurque à droite comme cela lui a été indiqué, trouve un bloc géant qu'il croit être le célèbre bloc erratique.
Déçu notre Américain de retour dans ses Amériques, très déçu lorsqu'il découvre... qu'il pourrait bien s'être trompé de pierre.
Il m'écrit, me demandant si "son" bloc - manifestement aussi un bloc erratique - a un nom et où il se situe par rapport à la vraie Pierre-à-Bot. D'après la photo il semble moins massif et d'une autre forme.
Quelqu'un peut-il identifier ce bloc ? Ce bloc se trouve dans la même forêt que la Pierre-à-Bot un peu plus à l'est. Depuis la Pinte de Pierre-à-Bot l'Américain a pris le chemin de la Lisière comme on le lui avait indiqué. Il a bifurqué à droite trop tôt et le hasard a fait qu'il est tombé sur un bloc d'un certain volume, qu'il a pris pour la Pierre-à-Bot. Si ce bloc est un authentique bloc erratique il fait partie du patrimoine protégé.

L'Américain raconte sa recherche :
"However, I wanted to find the famous glacial erratic, *Pierre-a-bot*. I went up the hills behind Neuchatel, up a road to a restaurant (?), allong a footpath, then people we met told me Pierre-a-bot was off the footpath up a smaller path to my right. I went up one of the paths and found what almost certainly must be a giant glacial erratic. I thought it was Pierre-a-bot.
When I got home I checked the internet for pictures of Pierre-a-bot and found the picture of Pierre-a-bot on your Blog. So having missed seeing the real Pierre-a-bot I wondered if the glacial erratic I did find had a name.
It also must be within a few 100 meters of the real Pierre-a-bot. As I said earlier I went up the hills behind Neuchatel, up a road to restaurant (I now think it was *Pinte de Pierre-a-bot*). then along a footpath leading beside the restaurant, then took a right turn off the footpath onto a less marked path up the hill, then found the glacial erratic in the picture."
